What Are RODA NyWheels?
RODA NyWheels are made from abrasive-filled non-woven nylon. Unlike a hard, solid abrasive wheel, the material forms an open and flexible web that cushions the abrasive action as it contacts the workpiece.
This makes RODA NyWheels particularly useful for refining a surface, removing light burrs, blending machine lines and creating satin or brushed finishes without unnecessarily changing the base geometry of the component.

The springy abrasive nylon web follows curves, corners, holes and detailed profiles more easily than a rigid abrasive tool.

When Should You Use a RODA NyWheel?
RODA NyWheels are best suited to controlled surface preparation on smaller or detailed components. Use them where you need to clean, blend, refine or lightly deburr a surface rather than remove substantial material.

When a NyWheel Is Not the First Process
RODA NyWheels are finishing tools rather than heavy stock-removal tools. Use a more aggressive abrasive first where you need to remove substantial burrs, pronounced welds, deep scratches or significant material.
Once the heavier cutting stage is complete, a RODA NyWheel can blend the surface, soften edges and create a consistent foundation for the finish that follows.

How to Use RODA NyWheels Effectively
Correct setup and technique have a direct effect on finish quality, tool life and process consistency.
1. Match the Shank to the Tool
Select the correct 2.35mm or 3mm shank to match the collet or chuck on your rotary tool. Check the machine manufacturer’s guidance before fitting any mounted abrasive.
2. Choose the Right Working Shape
Use a standard NyWheel for controlled work on edges, faces and channels. Choose a Small Buffing Ball for curves, bores and concave surfaces.
3. Start with Light Pressure
Let the abrasive nylon web do the work. Excessive pressure can generate unnecessary heat, shorten tool life and reduce control over the finish.
4. Keep the Tool Moving
Use a smooth, consistent movement across the component. Avoid dwelling in one place, particularly on softer metals, plastics or detailed surfaces.
5. Work from Coarser to Finer Only When Needed
Start with the least aggressive grade likely to achieve the result you need. Move to a coarser grade only where necessary, then refine with a finer grade where a softer satin or brighter finish is required.
6. Follow Safe Speed Guidance
Use a suitable rotary tool, ensure the NyWheel is securely fitted and do not exceed the recommended maximum RPM for the selected diameter.

Choosing an Abrasive Nylon Grade
The grade you choose controls the cutting action and the finish left on the component. Coarser grades are generally used for heavier cleaning, more visible machine marks, graining and light deburring. Finer grades are used for light cleaning, satin refinement and brighter finishing.
