Grease, Dry and Greaseless Bars
Most compound bars use a grease binder. Dry bars, such as Menzerna 456G and the Jupiter dry bar in the 3rd Stage range, carry less grease onto the part. Greaseless compounds such as Lea Greaseless are applied to the mop and left to dry, giving a flexible abrasive surface for satin and brushed finishes and a clean, grease-free part ready for lacquering or coating.
Bar sizes vary by product, from 150g Dialux bars and 4x1 inch small bars to 8x2 inch bars and approximately 600g Menzerna half bars. Check each product page for the exact size.
Choosing a Mop
Use firmer mops such as sisal for cutting bars and softer mops for finishing bars, with a separate mop for each compound. See How to Choose the Right Polishing Mop or browse Polishing Mops.
