Metal Polishing with an Eneska Micromotor

In this article, we will look at metal polishing with an Eneska Micromotor. We will detail why there really is no better tool to use than an Eneska Micromotor for precision polishing and deburring.

When Moleroda first started out 40 years ago, the majority of precision metal finishing was still being done with a drill or dremel. It is surprising, that still in many workshops, all these years on, still use these tools. In the last decade there have been many advances in micromotors and precision finishing. At Moleroda, we have tried and tested many of the different types and versions from across the globe, and we believe that nothing comes close to the precision, control and reliability of the Eneska Micromotor. Here we detail the benefits and uses of the Eneska and why you will never want to use another Micromotor for your precision finishing,

What is an Eneska Micromotor?

Micromotors, also known as electric motor systems, are mobile units for grinding, milling and polishing. Ideal for precision metal polishing and finishing. A micromotor can be plugged into the mains power of your building and get working straight away. Micromotors have power, flexibility and mobility which makes processing even large workpieces easy.

Moleroda is the UK supplier of ENESKA Systems for precision finishing. ENESKA manufacture a range of high quality and robust systems and tools for polishing, grinding and deburring.

ENESKA tools range from laser welding and ultrasonic lapping, to the ENESKA Micromotor systems, perfect for very detailed de-burring, polishing etc.

Eneska Micromotor – the benefits

1. High speed, control and power

The Eneska Micromotor offers amazing speed control. If you are deburring metal and require a high speed, but then need to reduce speed due to polishing, or working with a different material such as plastic – you can do so simply by turning the dial. You can even change speed using the foot pedal. Other tools, such as Pendant Motors tend to be limited to 25,000 rpm (some more, some less), Micromotors however typically offer closer to 35,000 rpm. But the Eneska Micromotor goes up to 50,000 RPM.  Some carbide burrs and cutters like to be run at higher speeds, small diameter burrs work well with the lower torque and high speeds. This makes them a good option for delicate jobs like stone setting, precision engineering and dental technician work.

2. Noise

The first thing customers note when using a micromotor for the first time is the noise level, they are quiet! Ideal when working in a factory and considering noise level when thinking about health and safety and creating a good working environment. This is not true of air tools or pendant motors which can be noisy and disruptive.

3. Vibration

Micromotors have noticeably less vibration. In a lot of industries now there are health and safety regulations on vibration. Micromotors tend to be the choice where this is a requirement. They are much more comfortable for operators to use for long shifts. For all users this is a plus point, the difference is very obvious.

4. Portable and flexible

Micromotors have small cables and are not heavy to move from workbench to workbench. They simply sit on the workbench, taking up very little room. Further, a tool such as a pendant motor has a flexible shaft while the Micromotor has a thin wire cable connecting the motor to the control box. The flexible shaft has to be hung to prevent damage, this is fine in a workshop but can be cumbersome to move and whilst flexible there is some restriction to movement. The micromotor cable however is very light and very flexible. It allows for greater accuracy of movement.

5. Versatility

Unlike many other micromotors, the Eneska micromotor offers incredible versatility as it comes with a huge range of handpieces. You can choose from all these different handpieces an simply change and switch your handpiece onto the motor you have. These include:

  • Straight handpiece
  • Right angled
  • Mini belt grinder
  • Diprofil
  • Mini hand filing
  • Rapid chuck handpiece

In order to change your handpiece it is a quick release system, so no need for allen keys and time consuming spanners etc. It really is so easy to change between handpieces if you are doing a variety of metal polishing or finishing.

Not only offering different handpieces, you can choose from different motors depending on the different speed and work you are doing.

6. Efficient and Reliable

Eneska Micromotors have brushless motors. Why is this so important? Well, then they are no brushes rubbing against anything, no energy is lost due to friction. That means brushless motors are more energy-efficient than brushed drills and can run far longer than other micromotors.

7. Simply smoother

Micromotors are often a revelation to a lot of people as the feel is something entirely different if you are used to a pendant motor or air tools.  Operators report better feeling, without the drag of the flex shaft and the minimal vibration. You have more control.

It is possible to maintain better control with the stop start controls on the Eneska. Speed can be set on some models. The start is much more gradual and smooth.

8. Intelligent Control Unit

The core component of the Eneska is the intelligent control unit. It is intelligent because it automatically detects which micromotor is connected and allows you various ports to even run up to 4 motors at a time. Individual settings can be saved on the touch display. So you can go back to the speed you were working at to maintain consistency. It is dust protected and even has a USB port.

9. Less time per part

We can guarantee that by using the Eneska Micromotor you will spend less time per part. Its accuracy and precision and speed control will mean you can get each part done far faster. Dont just take our word for it; working with Atherton bikes, they moved from using a drill to the Eneska 600 and couldnt believe the time spent when polishing and grinding their parts.

Will May White, Atherton Bikes Manufacturing Engineer, said of the Eneska, “The devil is in the detail. The finish of the parts on our bikes is down to the precision of the Eneska tool. We have tried and tested a lot of tools to ensure that even the smallest details on our bikes are of the finest quality. With no vibrations or noise output, we are able to work more efficiently by increasing safe working times when using the Eneska supplied by Moleroda Finishing Systems”.
