Apex installs the UK’s First ENESKApostprocess, Setting a New Benchmark in AM Post-Processing Safety

Apex Additive Technologies has once again demonstrated its leadership in the additive manufacturing (AM) sector by installing the UK’s first ENESKApostprocess system at its facility in Wales. This innovative solution underscores the company’s commitment to ensuring operator well-being and cements its reputation as a pioneer in metal additive manufacturing, dedicated to bringing the highest-quality advanced manufacturing to all sectors.

End-to-End Excellence in Metal Additive Manufacturing

Apex is dedicated to delivering the highest-quality advanced manufacturing of metallic components throughout the full end-to-end process chain, ensuring robust post-processing, repeatability, and operator safety. Recognising the importance of stringent safety measures during post-processing, Apex collaborated with Moleroda, to identify the best solution.

Addressing Post-Processing Risks

“Post-processing at high surface speeds can be extremely hazardous due to the generation of fine metallic dusts, which pose significant risks to both health and workplace cleanliness,” explains Youssef Beshay, Founder and CEO of Apex Additive Technologies.

“These particulates also present a high risk from a DSEAR perspective, demanding stringent control measures. Our ENESKApostprocess addresses all these concerns in one system: fine dusts are contained and immediately extracted through an ATEX-rated filter, ensuring no operator exposure whatsoever, thanks to the glove box design. Within the glove-box there is built in access to ENESKA’s wide range of high-rpm motorised surface finishing tools, where the process is both ergonomic and repeatable—delivering a safe, clean, and efficient solution for advanced manufacturing environments.”

About the ENESKApostprocess

Moleroda Finishing Systems is the UK distributor for joke Technology in Germany, the developer of the ENESKApostprocess system. This workstation features a 0.75m² cabin that accommodates both large and small printed parts. Fine dust is automatically extracted through an ATEX-rated filter, and the door remains locked until the cabin air meets cleanliness standards above those of the surrounding environment. The system’s design allows operators to use high-speed air tools and micromotors without requiring additional PPE, offering a significant leap in safety and efficiency.

Immediate Benefits for Apex WITH AM Post-Processing Safety

Since installing the ENESKApostprocess, Apex has successfully employed the system for support removal, powder elimination, build-plate separation, and fine surface smoothing. By mitigating health and safety risks traditionally associated with post-processing, Apex continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and operator wellbeing.

“We are proud to be the first in the UK to install this cutting-edge technology,” says Mr Beshay. “We expect many AM companies will soon follow suit, given the unparalleled health and safety benefits it provides.”
