Double Handle Mop Dresser for Polishing Mops and Buffs
A mop dresser is an essential tool wherever polishing mops are used. This double handle dresser has five rows of steel wire bristles set into a 14″ wooden handle, held with both hands for control while raking a running mop or buff.
It combs the surface of a new mop or buff to a soft, down-like finish, and cleans used mops by removing surplus compound so they run true. Raking away excess compound also prevents hardened residue from scratching the work.
When to Dress a Mop

How to Use a Mop Dresser
- Hold it firmly with both hands and take a stable stance.
- Work on the lower half of the running mop, where the face turns downwards and away from you.
- Rake across the full width of the face with steady, light pressure.
- Stop once the fibres look fluffed and the glazed sheen has gone. Over-raking wears the mop unnecessarily.
- Re-apply compound with a short touch of the bar, or re-head a greaseless mop using the start and stop method.
