Medium-Format Contour Control with Dedeco 2 inch TC Discs
The Dedeco Sunburst 2″ TC radial disc sits between precision small radial discs and broader 3″ industrial formats.
Its 50mm diameter provides enough working face for efficient surface blending, while still offering the access and control needed for pockets, inside corners, tighter contours and more concentrated finishing work.
The TC curved bristle geometry is designed to flex and conform to the workpiece, making it ideal where the surface shape needs to be preserved rather than aggressively levelled.
Why Choose the 2″ Format?
Focused Surface Contact
The 2″ diameter provides a narrower working face than 3″ radial discs, helping the operator focus the finishing action into smaller areas, pockets and shaped profiles.
Improved Access & Visibility
The compact medium format improves control when working around internal radii, cast details, tooling features and partially enclosed surfaces.
Flexible TC Bristle Action
Curved TC bristles conform to the workpiece, helping clean, deburr and blend without harsh edge removal or unnecessary flattening.
Custom Stack Width
Use single discs for focused access, or stack multiple loose discs to create a wider, more conformable abrasive head.
Typical Applications
Mould Tool & Precision Engineering
- Blending machined pockets and internal profiles

Mounting & Compatibility
These are loose medium radial discs with a 9.5mm centre hole. They require a compatible mounting system before use.
MM506 Large Screw Nut Mandrel
The MM506 is the preferred portable mounting option for drills, die grinders and compatible 6mm chuck rotary tools.
- 6mm shank for direct chuck mounting
- Rear-tightening screw nut system
- Allows custom stacked disc widths
- Suitable for portable medium-format finishing
Radial Disc Screw Adapter
Radial disc screw adapters are used for mounting loose medium radial discs onto suitable tapered spindle polishing machines.
- For bench motors and tapered spindle systems
- Supports stacked loose-disc configurations
- Useful for stationary, two-handed workpiece control
- Designed for loose 50mm and 75mm radial discs
Important:
These 2″ discs are loose radial discs.
They are not pre-assembled wheel units and should be securely clamped before use.
Compare Medium Radial Disc Systems
Not sure which medium radial disc system is right for your application?
Use the 2″ TC format when you need flexible contour finishing in a more focused working area.
| System | Best For | Mounting |
|---|---|---|
| 2″ Dedeco TC discs | Focused contour blending, pockets, tighter radii and controlled medium-format finishing | Loose disc – MM506 or radial disc screw adapter |
| 3″ Dedeco TC discs | Broader flexible contour blending and larger curved surfaces | Loose disc – MM506 or radial disc screw adapter |
| 3″ Dedeco TA discs | Flatter, more aggressive face-contact finishing and heavier surface conditioning | Loose disc – MM506 or radial disc screw adapter |
| 50mm 3M Scotch-Brite discs | Controlled satin blending and consistent surface refinement at the same diameter | Loose disc – medium mounting system |
| 75mm 3M Scotch-Brite discs | Broader Scotch-Brite surface conditioning and satin finishing | Loose disc – medium mounting system |
| 3″ TC pre-assembled units | Ready-mounted convenience where a fixed multi-ply setup is preferred | Pre-assembled centre – not a loose-disc stack |
Choose 2″ Dedeco TC discs for controlled contour work in a narrower medium format.
Move up to 3″ TC for greater surface coverage, or 3″ TA when flatter, more aggressive face contact is required.
Operating Guidelines
Recommended speed:
3,000 – 18,000 RPM where suitable for the tool, mounting system and material being worked. Use lower speeds for heat-sensitive materials.
Setup
- Stack multiple loose discs to increase working width and surface conformity
- Ensure the disc stack is clamped securely before use
- Check that the bristle curvature follows the direction of rotation
- Use the correct mounting system for the machine being used
Technique
- Use light to moderate pressure
- Allow the curved bristles to do the cutting and blending
- Progress through grades sequentially for the most consistent finish
- Avoid excessive pressure, which can reduce disc life and create uneven results
