Compare Every 7/8-inch TC Grade in a Defined 4-Ply Format
Dedeco Sunburst 7/8″ TC radial bristle discs provide a compact and versatile finishing system for cleaning, deburring, blending and polishing small components, contours and detailed surfaces.
This 4-ply assortment covers the complete seven-grade range, with four matching discs and a dedicated 2.35mm mandrel provided for every grade. It is particularly useful when comparing grades with a consistent working width or developing a repeatable multi-stage finishing process.
The standard-profile curved TC bristles—equivalent to Type C terminology—provide flexible, conformable contact around curves, edges and irregular geometries. A dedicated mandrel for every grade keeps the complete finishing sequence organised and ready for repeat use.
Need to replenish a particular grade? Individual 7/8″ standard-profile TC discs and 4-ply wheel sets are available separately.

Compare Every Grade
Trial the complete progression from coarse 80 grit through to ultra-fine 1 micron to identify a suitable starting point and finishing sequence.
Consistent 4-Ply Format
Four matching discs in every grade provide a consistent working width, making it easier to compare cutting action and surface finish.
Dedicated Mandrel per Grade
Each grade has its own 2.35mm mandrel, helping to keep the wheel sets separate and reducing repeated disc changes during a finishing sequence.
4-Ply or Loose Disc Assortment?
Choose the 4-ply assortment when you want one consistently configured four-disc wheel and dedicated 2.35mm mandrel for every grade.
Choose the 86-piece loose-disc assortment for greater quantities of every grade and more scope to experiment with different working widths.
View the 86-Piece Loose Disc AssortmentTypical Applications
The 4-ply assortment is particularly suited to processes where a consistent working width, organised grade changes and repeatable results are more important than frequently reconfiguring loose discs.
- Comparing all seven abrasive grades using the same four-disc working width
- Developing repeatable multi-stage cleaning, blending and polishing workflows
- Keeping each grade assembled on its own dedicated mandrel for faster changes
- Reducing reconfiguration when moving between regularly used finishing stages
- Removing oxidation, light surface contamination and suitable coatings
- Cleaning and refining cast jewellery, precision components and machined parts
- Controlled deburring around edges, profiles and machined features
- Blending surface marks and transitions with a broader, supported working face
- Progressing consistently from initial cleaning through to fine polishing
Suitable Materials
These discs can be used across suitable precious and non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and bronze. They are also suitable for selected wood, acrylic and plastic applications.
Always test the selected grade on an inconspicuous area first, particularly on softer, coated or heat-sensitive materials.
Assortment Contents & Grades
What's Included
- Seven complete 4-ply wheel sets: One wheel set in every available grade
- Four matching discs per grade: 28 abrasive-filled discs in total
- Seven dedicated mandrels: One for each grade to minimise repeated disc changes
- Mandrel shank: 2.35mm (3/32″)
Every mandrel accepts the discs’ 1.6mm centre hole. The four-disc arrangement provides the intended 4-ply working width, while individual discs can be removed when narrower contact is required.
Grade Selection
The assortment contains one grade-specific wheel set in each of the following seven grades. Each set comprises four matching 7/8″ discs and one dedicated 2.35mm (3/32″) shank mandrel. The components are supplied loose for assembly, with all four discs forming the intended consistent 4-ply working width.
Begin with the finest grade capable of producing the required result.

Use the Defined 4-Ply Setup
Using all four matching discs produces a broader and more stable working face than a single loose disc.
- Keep all four discs in the same grade
- Align every disc in the same direction of rotation
- Ensure the screw-top mandrel remains fully engaged
- Keep each grade on its dedicated mandrel where practical
Adjust the Working Width
Although designed around a 4-ply setup, matching discs can be removed when narrower and more controlled contact is required.
- Only combine discs of the same diameter, profile and grade
- Never mix different abrasive grades on one mandrel
- Confirm that the retaining screw is secure after reconfiguration
- Store removed discs with their matching grade for later use
Operating & Safety Guidance
- Recommended operating range: 3,000-18,000 RPM
- Woodworking reference speed: Approximately 5,000 RPM
- Never exceed the lowest maximum speed stated for the disc, mandrel or machine
- Confirm that the 2.35mm mandrel shank matches the machine or collet
- Install the discs so the tail of each curved bristle follows the direction of rotation
- Use the bristle tips with light pressure rather than forcing the wheel into the workpiece
- Keep the tool moving to control localised heat and uneven wear
- Check that the screw-top mandrel is secure before starting the machine
- Use suitable machine guarding and appropriate personal protective equipment
