Types of Vibratory Finishing Media
1. Ceramic Media
-
Perfect for cutting, flattening, deburring, edge rounding, and polishing hard metals like steel and stainless steel.
-
Available in multiple abrasive grades from no cut to ultra-fast cut, giving you precise control over surface finish.
-
Common shapes: triangles, cylinders, cones, pyramids, and porcelain pins—each designed for specific part geometries.
-
Manufactured to DIN ISO 9001 standards for quality and consistency.
2. Plastic (Resin) Media
-
Designed for softer metals such as aluminium, brass, and jewellery components.
-
Delivers gentle, smooth finishing to prevent part damage or excessive material removal.
-
Used with liquid polishing compounds like FC120 for a bright, clean finish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I mix ceramic and plastic media?
A: No, you should not mix media, however using different types and grades at different stages will improve results – use ceramic for cutting and deburring, then switch to plastic for polishing or brightening.
Q: Which media is best for stainless steel?
A: Use ceramic media with medium to high cut rates for deburring, then finer grades for a bright finish.
Q: Can I buy larger packs if needed?
A: Yes, we also offer 25kg bags for larger production requirements – available upon request.
Q: What shapes are available?
A: Triangles, cones, cylinders, pyramids, and much more – Browse the full range available upon request
Q: Is technical support available?
A: Absolutely – our experts can advise on media type, grade, and process settings – just give us a call.
