Explore Every 7/8-inch TC Grade with One Flexible Assortment
Dedeco Sunburst 7/8″ TC radial bristle discs provide a balanced all-round format for cleaning, deburring, blending and polishing. The 22mm working diameter retains useful access and control around contours, edges and irregular shapes while providing greater surface coverage for broader general finishing.
This loose-disc assortment contains useful quantities across the complete seven-grade range, making it easier to compare cutting actions, develop a finishing sequence and retain the selected grades for further work.
The discs can be used individually for narrow, flexible contact or combined in matching stacks to create a broader and more supported working face. Their standard-profile curved TC bristles – equivalent to Type C terminology – conform to changing surface shapes without requiring polishing compound.
Once the preferred grades have been identified, individual loose discs are available for targeted replenishment.
Need to replenish a particular grade? Individual 7/8″ TC Standard-profile discs are available separately.

Balanced All-Round Diameter
The 7/8″ format combines controlled access around contours and profiles with useful coverage across broader surfaces, making it a versatile choice for general finishing.
Compare Every Grade
Trial the complete progression from coarse 80 grit through to ultra-fine 1 micron to identify a suitable starting point and finishing sequence.
Configure the Working Width
Use a single disc for narrow, flexible contact or stack matching discs to produce a wider and more supported working face.
Loose Disc or 4-Ply Assortment?
Choose the loose-disc assortment for greater quantities of every grade and the flexibility to experiment with different working widths.
Choose the 4-ply assortment when you primarily want one consistently configured four-disc wheel and dedicated 2.35mm mandrel for each grade.
Typical Applications
- Comparing abrasive grades and developing repeatable general-finishing processes
- Cleaning, blending and polishing small-to-medium components
- Removing oxidation, light surface contamination and suitable coatings
- Controlled deburring around edges, profiles and machined features
- Blending surface marks across faces, contours and transitions
- Refining cast jewellery, precision components and irregular geometries
- Producing satin, pre-polished and highly refined finishes
- Progressing from initial cleaning through to fine polishing
Suitable Materials
These discs can be used across suitable precious and non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and bronze. They are also suitable for selected wood, acrylic and plastic applications.
Always test the selected grade on an inconspicuous area first, particularly on softer, coated or heat-sensitive materials.
Assortment Contents & Grades
What's Included
- 84 loose radial discs: 12 discs in each of seven colour-coded grades
- One 2.35mm (3/32″) shank mandrel: For compatible micromotors, flexible shaft handpieces and rotary tools
- One 3.18mm (1/8″) shank mandrel: For tools or collets designed for a true 1/8″ shank
- Total pack quantity: 86 pieces
Both screw-top mandrels accept the discs’ 1.6mm (1/16″) centre hole. Select the mandrel whose shank exactly matches your machine, handpiece, chuck or collet.
Grade Selection
The assortment covers the following seven grades. Begin with the finest grade capable of producing the required result.

12 x loose discs | Pre-polishing and preparation for micron finishing |
| Peach (Extra-Fine) |
6 Micron (Aluminium Oxide) |
12 x loose discs | Fine polishing and development of an initial lustre |
| Light Green (Ultra-Fine) |
1 Micron (Aluminium Oxide) |
12 x loose discs | Final high-lustre and highly refined finishing |
Choose the Correct Mandrel
The kit includes two screw-top mandrels for the discs’ 1.6mm centre hole:
- 2.35mm (3/32″) shank for compatible jewellery handpieces, micromotors and flexible shaft systems
- 3.18mm (1/8″) shank for tools and collets designed for a true 1/8″ shank
A 3.18mm shank is not interchangeable with a 3mm collet. Confirm the exact capacity of the tool before fitting the mandrel.
Adjust the Working Width
Use one loose disc for narrow and controlled contact or combine matching discs to increase the working width and stability.
- Only stack discs of the same diameter, profile and grade
- Align every disc in the same direction of rotation
- Ensure the mandrel screw remains fully and securely engaged
- Do not mix different grades within the same working stack
Operating & Safety Guidance
- Recommended operating range: 3,000-18,000 RPM
- Woodworking reference speed: Approximately 5,000 RPM
- Never exceed the lowest maximum speed stated for the disc, mandrel or machine
- Confirm that the selected mandrel shank matches the machine or collet
- Install the discs so the tail of each curved bristle follows the direction of rotation
- Use the bristle tips with light pressure rather than forcing the discs into the workpiece
- Keep the tool moving to control localised heat and uneven wear
- Check that the screw-top mandrel is secure before starting the machine
- Use suitable machine guarding and appropriate personal protective equipment
