Precision Control with 3M Scotch-Brite Habras Discs
3M Scotch-Brite 19mm radial bristle discs are the smallest precision-detail format within the Scotch-Brite radial disc range. Their smaller diameter makes them ideal for controlled finishing in areas where 22mm, 25mm or larger discs may feel too aggressive or difficult to position.
They are especially useful for jewellery, dental, restoration and precision engineering work where access, visibility and surface control are critical.
Unlike traditional wire brushes or loose abrasive compounds, the abrasive is built into the flexible bristles. As the disc wears, fresh abrasive is exposed, helping maintain a consistent finish throughout the life of the disc.

Why Choose 19mm Discs?
Excellent Access
The compact 19mm diameter allows the disc to reach into tighter areas than larger radial discs.
Better Visibility
The smaller working diameter gives the user more control when working close to delicate features.
Controlled Finishing
Ideal for cleaning, blending and polishing without flattening detail or removing unnecessary base material.
Typical Applications
These discs are typically mounted in multiple layers on MM503 Screw Top Mandrels for application with precision rotary tools such as Micromotors, Pencil Grinders, and Flexible Shaft Machines.
Jewellery & Precious Metals
- Cleaning inside ring settings and galleries
- Removing oxidation and fire scale from detailed castings

Mounting & Compatibility
These discs have a 1.6mm centre hole and should be used with the MM503 screw-top mandrel.
- Recommended mandrel: MM503 screw-top mandrel
- Compatible shanks: 2.35mm or 3mm, depending on your tool
- Recommended setup: Stack multiple discs for best performance
- Typical stack: 3 – 6 discs
Important: Do not use with MM304 mandrels. The 3mm screw is too large for these 19mm discs.
Compare Small 3M Scotch-Brite Radial Discs
At Moleroda we offer 2 sizes of radial disc designed for mounting on small mandrels:
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|

Operating Guidelines
Recommended speed:
10,000 – 20,000 RPM
Maximum speed:
30,000 RPM
Stacking:
For best results, stack 3 – 6 discs on an MM503 mandrel to create a wider, more stable abrasive face.
Orientation:
Ensure the bristle direction follows the rotation of the tool.
Technique:
Use light pressure and allow the tips of the bristles to do the work. Excessive pressure can reduce disc life and produce less consistent results.

The Right Mounting
These 19mm discs require an MM503 screw-top mandrel. Choose the 2.35mm shank for micromotors and jewellery handpieces, or the 3mm shank for compatible rotary tools and flexible shaft systems.

Need a Larger Working Face?
Move up to 25mm Scotch-Brite radial discs for broader coverage and faster finishing on larger surfaces.
Note: 25mm discs use a 3mm centre hole and require an MM304 mandrel or compatible mounting system.
