What are Quartz halogen lamps?
Quartz halogen lamps, also known as tungsten halogen lamps or quartz lamps, are a type of incandescent lamp that uses a tungsten filament enclosed in a small quartz capsule filled with a halogen gas, usually iodine or bromine.
The tungsten filament is heated by an electric current, causing it to glow and emit light. The halogen gas inside the quartz capsule reacts with the tungsten filament, which helps to keep the filament clean and prevent it from blackening over time. This allows the lamp to maintain a high level of brightness and efficiency over a longer lifespan than traditional incandescent lamps.
Quartz halogen lamps are known for their bright, white light and high color temperature, which makes them popular for use in photography and film lighting, as well as in automotive headlights and outdoor lighting. They are also used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications where high-intensity, directional lighting is needed, such as in medical and dental lighting, stage and studio lighting, and fiber optic illumination.
Quartz halogen lamps come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from small, low-voltage bulbs to larger, high-wattage lamps. They are also available with different beam angles and color temperatures to suit different lighting needs.
