Micro-Mesh is a cushioned abrasive made by Micro-Surface (USA). Its flexible latex layer allows abrasive crystals to “float” and rotate, giving a controlled and consistent cut.

Each Micro-Mesh product is constructed using:

1. A durable cloth backing

2. A flexible latex layer

3. Silicon carbide, aluminium oxide, or diamond crystals

4. A flexible bonding system that allows micro-movement

When pressure is applied, the abrasive crystals recede and rotate, exposing fresh cutting edges while preventing gouging. This produces an extremely uniform scratch pattern—even at coarse grades.

Because the crystals move within the cushion:
