Micro-Mesh is a unique cushioned abrasive system engineered to produce exceptionally uniform finishes on plastics, metals, composites and coatings. Unlike traditional sandpaper, Micro-Mesh flexes and conforms to the material surface—reducing the risk of deep scratching and extending the life of the abrasive dramatically.
At Moleroda, we are proud to be Europe’s largest distributor of Micro-Mesh products, supplying everything from aviation-grade polishing kits to fine finishing products for makers, restorers, and high-precision industries.

Micro-Mesh is a cushioned abrasive made by Micro-Surface (USA). Its flexible latex layer allows abrasive crystals to “float” and rotate, giving a controlled and consistent cut.
Why Professionals Choose Micro-Mesh:
-
Finer finishes than conventional abrasives
-
7–10× longer life due to the cushioning system
-
Minimal heat build-up prevents damage to plastics and coatings
-
Reduced scratching from evenly distributed abrasive crystals
-
Perfect for irregular, curved or delicate surfaces
This Makes Micro-Mesh the preffered finishing solution for:
-
Aircraft transparencies and canopies
-
Instrument making & restoration
-
Precision metal finishing
-
Marine acrylic restoration
-
Model making & hobby crafts
-
Acrylic & polycarbonate repair
-
Hard wood finishing
-
Automotive headlight restoration
-
Stone, Corian & solid surface care
What is a Cushioned Abrasive?
Each Micro-Mesh product is constructed using:
-
A durable cloth backing
-
A flexible latex layer
-
Silicon carbide, aluminium oxide, or diamond crystals
-
A flexible bonding system that allows micro-movement
The Cutting Action
When pressure is applied, the abrasive crystals recede and rotate, exposing fresh cutting edges while preventing gouging. This produces an extremely uniform scratch pattern—even at coarse grades.
Why it Outperforms Standard Abrasive Paper
Because the crystals move within the cushion:
-
Larger crystals give a finer finish
-
The abrasive resists loading and clogging
-
Heat generation is reduced
-
The product lasts significantly longer
-
You can complete a full polishing sequence in fewer steps
