How to deburr an internal hole
What is an internal hole?
Deburring internal holes is essential to the manufacturing process. Burrs that aren’t cleaned up can cause part failure by breaking off and clogging or damaging a part or an assembly or by cutting a wire or an O-ring that’s passed through a bore. But cross-holes, where two or more holes intersect, are hard to reach and often require different type of deburring.
Deburring an internal hole can be a costly and time-consuming operation, with the back sides of holes being difficult as they can be inaccessible with conventional deburring tools.
So what’s the solution?
For a fast and efficient way of deburring internal holes the XEBEC Extended Deburring Tools are ideal for accurate precision cross hole deburring. The burr is carefully removed without damaging the drill holes. The elastic shaft with 2mm flexible radius reduces the danger or breakage during use. The special aluminium oxide fibre material ensures a high and continual grinding performance, works without creating grinding dust, which in turn reliable stops scratches on the work piece! They are self-sharpening so provide a continuous and stable grinding performance. These can be used in a machine centre, NC lathe, robot etc.

What can you use a Xebec tool with?
In order to deburr an internal hole, especially when cross hole deburring you can use the XEBEC stones with the following tools:
- CNC
- Machining Centre
- Robot
- Micromotor
Why is XEBEC so ideal for internal holes?
XEBEC Stone™ uses the original abrasive ceramic fiber material instead of abrasive grains. By using ceramic stone on the head portion, the cutting edges are exposed over the entire surface. This tool prevents clogs and scratches to the surface because it does not contain abrasive grains.
How to use the extended deburring tools
XEBEC Stone™ Flexible Shaft has grinding power on the entire surface of the head portion. It allows deburring in various ways as long as the tip of the head portion contacts with the processing area.
The ball type is capable of deburring hole edge after drilling by point processing or removing back burrs after drilling by contouring.
The cylinder type is suitable for deburring blind holes.
How to use the crosshole brushes
XEBEC Brush™ has high grinding power on the tip, thus the tip of the brush must pass through the part to be processed. When processing a crosshole, it is necessary to rotate the brush at high rotation speed and expand it by centrifugal force.
The target hole diameter is between Φ3.5mm and Φ20mm. If you use the tool beyond the maximum rotation speed or outside the cylinder (outside the workpiece), it may result in brush breakage
