How to use our Surface Preparation and Polishing Kit for all Materials:

1. Start by using Unitized Points and Wheels for any major stock removal or to remove any deep scratches and rough burrs. These tools do not require any compound, simply mount into your rotary tool and work across the surface. For best results work through the grades from coarse to fine and always keep moving and avoid dwelling to prevent any uneven areas and “flats” forming.
2. RODA NyWheels are a great intermediary tool, perfect for blending finer scratches and machine lines, brush finishing, cleaning, removing rust and preparing the surface for polishing to a mirror-like finish. These abrasive nylon wheels are flexible and fit to the form of the workpiece. Once again, no compound is required. Work through the grades for the best results and avoid dwelling.
3. Finally, use a RODA Felt and load with compound by spinning the felt against the bar. Work the loaded felt evenly over your smoothed and prepared surface. Keep the felt loaded and moving at all times until you achieve a bright, high gloss finish.
4. We suggest using Vienna Lime or Solvent Cleaner to remove any residual polishing haze at the end of the process (Available in our online store).
